Sigma is an ISO 9001:2008 certified, NABL accredited laboratory capable of delivering extensive solutions for paper product analysis and testing determining the strength of paper, solid board and corrugated board, impact resistance of film, sheet, and laminated materials through tests like BS 3137, BS 2922:1 ,ISO 2758,ISO 2759, IS: 1060 and more.
Burst Strength Bursting strength tells how much pressure paper can tolerate before rupture. It is important for bag paper. Bursting strength is measured as the maximum hydrostatic pressure required to rupture the sample by constantly increasing the pressure applied through a rubber diaphragm on 1.20 - inch diameter (30.5 mm) sample.
Test Method: BS 3137, BS 2922:1 and International standard ISO 2758 and ISO 2759.Tensile Strength Tensile strength is made on a wide range of paper and board materials at Pira; including tissue, crepe paper, copier paper, medical paper, carton board, and liner boards. Measurement is made using a tensile tester applying a constant rate of elongation to the test strip. Tensile strength is usually quoted in kN/m.
Test Method: IS: 1060Thermal Shock Test Thermal shock assesses the resistance of packs to sudden changes in temperature. The packs are given a specified number of temperature cycles between a very low and, within a short period of time, an extremely high temperature. Thermal shock refers to a very high rate of temperature change, typically 30°C per minute or higher and is appropriate for testing packaging, aircraft parts, military hardware or electronics destined for rugged duty. Because almost all products are subject to shipping, this test may be appropriate to any part that will have to withstand an abrupt temperature change in a short period of time, such as a transition from a warm warehouse to a freezing roadside while being loaded onto a truck.
Test Method: BS EN 60068-2-14:2000Vibration test This test can assess performance of filled package when subjected to vibration during transit. Vibration testing is the shaking of a product or package to determine its ability to survive in real world conditions. DDL performs vibration testing on a package or product to simulate one of three environments: Transportation environment , Operating environment and Storage environment of sensitive products.
Test Method: ASTM D999, ASTM D3580, ASTM D4728, ISO 8318, ISO 2247, ISO 9022-10, ISO 9022-15, ISO 9022-19Peel Test Peel Testing provides valuable information on the peel or strength of an adhesive. Peel Testing measures the bonding strength of an adhesive, the force required to remove the adhesive. Characteristics such as residence (dwell) time, speed and temperature are tested. Higher values indicate stronger adhesive bonding.
Test MethodEdge Crush Test This method describes a procedure for determining the edgewise compressive strength, parallel to the flutes, of a short column of single-, double-, or triple-wall corrugated fiberboard, in a neck down, non reinforced, loading edge configuration. The edge crush resistance is included in the McKee formula and is therefore of particular importance for quality control in corrugated board factories. An essential requirement of this test that the specimen has clean, parallel and perpendicular edges and the material must be free of pre-damage.
Test Method: ISO 3037 or TAPPI T 811
